Maternity clothes like shopping in the back of a dark dank dungeon....

So I'm almost to the end of my first trimester and just started looking for some maternity pants and is anyone else horrifyingly depressed by the maternity sections at most stores. I was in the maternity sections of both GAP and Old Navy and felt like pregnant women have to be hidden in the very back of the store where no one even cleans. They both looked like like a clearance rack at the end of a long day of sales. There was virtually no selection and GAP doesn't even carry their full range of sizes in the store only online because apparently you're not even allowed to wear large sizes during pregnancy. I know there are specialty stores for maternity clothes but you can't even find those in the malls near me just as stand alone stores. Sorry just my ranting but I can't be the only one who feels this way. I was excited to start flaunting my new bump but shopping in a dark messy corner in the back of a store like something that needs to be hidden from the rest of the population is so sad. And yes I know I can order clothes online but frankly I don't know  how to dress this changing body and I like to see how things look before I buy them.
