Bf calling me his ex’s name. UPDATE.

I made a post about this yesterday and I’m just gonna copy past what I posted yesterday.

My bf accidentally called me his ex’s name in one of our convos. I’m kinda sad about it. I ended the phone call with “hey I need to go shower talk to you later” shortly after. Should I be bummed out by this. He apologized but idk I felt kinda bummed. We been together for almost 2 years. And this never happened. So do I have the right to be bummed out.

I kinda wanna give an update.

Ive talked to my bf about it and he says he honestly doesn’t know why he said her name. He said her name just slipped. I asked him if he had any contact with her or if he been thinking about her lately. And he says no. He doesn’t follow her on instagram and he hasn’t talked to her in years and she hasn’t tried reaching out to him. He says he hasn’t even thought of her. I believe him but idk why I’m still sad. I think it’s because he was saying “it’s just me and Jackie(ex gf name)” our convo was about how much I mean to him. He was quick to apologize as soon as he said it. He’s ex was back from high school. We are now both 22. They only dated a few months. Idk I’m just still really sad about it. And I don’t wanna give him a hard time about it because he says it was truly and accident and he doenst know why her name slip up.

But why am I sad?
