At how many weeks does your Dr start checking for dilation?

My guess is 36 weeks but I’ve never done this before and want to be prepared 😂

Mine did 36 weeks but I’ll be refusing them this time until i hit 40 weeks because they don’t really tell you a whole lot.

Not until you're in labour here. Theres no point of doing then before, unless you're overdue. For me they were super painful so I'm happy to get checked as little as possible.

My midwife and obgyn doesn’t even bother to check before the overdue control. As it doesn’t really mean anything unless you are in labor.

We dont get checked for dilation. Theres no need for it. It doesn't indicate how close labour will be so they dont see the need to put their hand inside of us and irritate our cervix for nothing. We only get checked once we are in labour.

You’ll get different answers as you can tell some start at 36 weeks. You can refuse the checks as it doesn’t really tell you much you can be dilated for weeks or months it doesn’t really tell you much of anything. Mine starts at 36 weeks I think I’ll refuse them this time around as they’re uncomfortable depending who does them and why do it if it’s not necessary at the moment.

I don’t get checked till after 40weeks. It’s unnecessary unless for medical reasons. It can irritate your cervix and cause discomfort and spotting which then can cause unnecessary concern. Some women walk around dilated for weeks and others don’t dilate till labor.
