I just seen my doctor and my next scheduled appointment is at 21 weeks. I realized they didn’t say anything about the anatomy scan so I called today and the nurse said that the doctor only does one around 15 weeks and one at 30.

This is not the first, second, or even third issue I’ve run into with this practice. The worst one is when I asked the doctor himself if they will or can do the NT scan at my 12 week ultrasound (he scheduled one early because he couldn’t find the heartbeat) and he said “sure sure! No problem” only for the next day to come and the tech told me she doesn’t do those, is not qualified to do them, nor has the doctor ever asked her to do one before. 😡

I’m not sure if I’m being unreasonable. I am a first time mom and just want all the same testing that I thought was normal/standard. My doctor is probably nearing 80 years old and I had to clarify what NIPT and NT was. I thought with all his years of practice he would be the best. I’ve contemplated finding a new doctor but it’s stressful and I’m desperately trying to find a new place to move to right now. I think I may need to revisit this idea though.. Also, I know no one NEEDS the testing and if something were wrong it wouldn’t change the outcome, but I want to know everything and be prepared.

Has anyone else’s doctors said they don’t do 20 week anatomy scans?
