TW Should women be prosecuted if their baby suffers due to the use of ‘dangerous’ medication?

There’s medications out there that are dangerous to a developing foetus and can cause birth defects. For some women these medications are vital for them and in some cases are life saving

If a woman is taking these medications and is advised against them yet still takes them and it results in a birth defect or deformity, should she be prosecuted for it?

If your answer is different when you’re asked ‘should women taking illegal drugs whilst pregnant be prosecuted’ then what changes your answer?

What about those addicted to prescription medication eg painkillers?
