Contractions?

Can you have regular contractions but not be in labor? 
Currently being monitored, haven’t spoken to the doctor yet but i seem to be having regular contractions, definitely more than 7 an hour. But when the nurse checked me, she said my cervix is still high, thick and closed

Oh yes absolutely! A week before I actually went into labor I had false labor but didn’t go to the hospital because I really didn’t think it was real, I was waiting for it to get worse. For 8 hours straight, I had contractions that were around 5-7 minutes apart. They were uncomfortable like real labor contractions, they felt just like it. The only reason I didn’t go into the hospital is because after hours of contractions and they never got stronger or more painful. They stayed the same strength the entire time. Turns out the same thing happened to me in real labor, so much so that on the way to the hospital I told my bf to turn around cuz it was prob false labor and they’d send us home. He didn’t turn around (thank god) and when we got there the nurse checked my cervix and said “oh yeahs deff in labor, his head is right there. You’re 4 cm.” I was SHOCKED! Lol.

Yes definitely. I have been having contractions every 5 minutes for the past 11 weeks. No cervical changes.

Yes. I've had two nights this week it's happened. They may try to give you an IV and if you aren't in actual labor it'll slow down.

Yea I went for my NST and I had 5 contractions in 30 mins. But they were concerned cause they were mild. The nurse told me the only difference between Braxton Hicks and real contractions is that real ones change your cervix. So apparently you can have Braxton Hicks frequently like actual contractions but they don’t change your cervix🤷🏼‍♀️
