I had my very first baby yesterday and let me tell you, I underestimated this whole process. I went in at 11:30pm on 5/24. Contractions were so bad I was BEGGING for the epidural that I said I wouldn’t get. I wasn’t dilating after 4 hours I was stuck at a 3, so they finally started me on pitocin around 6 am on 5/25 and by 12:30pm I was ready to push. I pushed for maybe 20-25 minutes and she was here! I only got to hold her for a little while and then she was snatched from my arms. She has been having trouble transitioning to life outside of the womb and they have had her in the nursery away from mommy due to her breathing and oxygen levels. this is the hardest thing I have ever experienced and I can’t wait to take my baby home. Congrats to the new mommy’s ! Who knew it was this hard? But we got this !
