My sweet preemie boy 💛
He was born 5/17 at 12:15am weighing 6lb 3oz and 19in long. He was 15 minutes into week 35 he’s now 36+2. He was having trouble breathing when he was born he was grunting really loud since he couldn’t breathe. Got to do some skin to skin before he was rushed to another room to be worked on. We had to get transported an hour away from home since the hospital we were at doesn’t take preemies. He was on the cpap machine and iv fluids with a sugar water drip since he was unable to eat at the time. He got switched over to high flow oxygen after 1 day, got his feeding tube in on day 3 and got his iv out that same day! We get to stay in the Ronald McDonald house to be close to him, he got moved out of the nicu three days ago and all he has to work on now is eating but he was pretty jaundice so for the first few days he was sleeping 23 hours of the day and wasn’t awake long enough to eat, and his breathing was still too unstable (too fast) and they were scared he was going to aspirate the milk. He’s been doing really good we’re in continued care I hope we’re out by the end of this upcoming week. He’s been taking 30-38ml of his 55ml feed by bottle hoping it’ll just keep going up so we can go home! He has to be tube free for two days before we can be discharged and they won’t take the tube out till he’s eating from just bottles for over a day. I just want my baby home already it’s so unnatural to be away from your baby ðŸ˜
