Overfeeding?

Alexis • 22 year old momma to a sweet baby boy ❤️

My son will be 3 weeks old tomorrow and over the past few days or so he’s gone from eating 2-3 oz every two hours to eating 3-4 oz every two hours sometimes with an extra oz 30 min after a feeding. I’ve reached the conclusion that he’s going through a growth spurt but I worry that he’s eating too much. I’ve tried giving him his pacifier or just holding him when he starts showing his hunger cues but the only thing that calms him is a bottle. He sleeps fine besides a couple times in the early morning he’ll wake up every hour to eat but then they spread out again once the day starts. He has his one month check up the following week so I’ll be speaking to his pediatrician about it but I was just curious if anyone experienced this change in eating pattern as well?

If he’s not throwing up/spitting up after feedings then he’s fine. Growth spurts and developmental leaps can change eating habits, sleeping habits, and attitude. If you’re concerned then contact your doctor!

Thats normal for growth spurts. Unless the pediatrician says to, dont ignore his hunger. He needs the extra food to grow.
