Won’t sleep in crib
Not looking to be shamed or told I should have done the crib from the get go, but I do need advice from anyone who’s been in a similar situation.
Our little dude is 5 months old. He was sleeping through the night in his bassinet next to our bed wonderfully up until 14 weeks. Then he got the flu. We had him nap in the rock n play to keep him elevated so he wasn’t congested (before the recall happened) and then put him in his bassinet at night. But then the cold woke him up every 30-45 minutes. So I woke up every 30-45 minutes.
Then I had to go back to work and getting up just wasn’t working so....I brought him to bed with me 🤦🏻♀️ And now. Here we are. Two months later. He will not sleep more than 1-2 hours straight. And he HATES his crib and bassinet. I mean HATES it. I’ll put him down and he screams bloody murder. I put him on my bed and he passes out within seconds. I kid you not.
So. Now that I’ve undone all the work we did for the first 14 weeks how can I get him to sleep literally anywhere but my bed? He sleeps fine in a crib at daycare. But at home. Phew. I’m the devil for putting him in there. The world is ending. He’ll cry for hours if I let him go. (Ok that’s an exaggeration. I’m not evil. We let him go 3, 5, 7, 10 minutes intervals and comfort him.)
