Umbilical cord question???

I’m a FTM and my sons umbilical cord seems to be slowly coming off but there is some yellow pocket underneath?? He is 12 days old and it just happened today? He has an appointment on Thursday. Should I be concerned or is it normal?? Should I try to see the pediatrician sooner?

normal they all look like that. i thought it was puss but his doctor said it was something i can’t remember but it’s supposed to look like that. you can put some alcohol on it to dry it out

Normal. I was just freaking out about the same thing. Saw the midwife today and was told it’s completely normal

My son’s pediatrician said to clean it, dry it, and put table salt on it to dry it out 🤷🏻‍♀️ There is a name for it but I don’t remember what she called it.
