Boyfriend going off to college... tips?

Hey guys! So my boyfriend is going off to college in a few months and we wanna make this work! He’ll be only 4 hours away but we won’t be able to see each other very often. How do y’all cope and stay close? Any tips or advice is appreciated!

Skype! Every night for an hour or two, text each other whenever you can. Plan visits & always ALWAYS communicate! I wish you the best of luck 💕

So I'm currently in college, 4.5 hours away from my boyfriend. We try to update each other as things happen, send memes throughout the day to cheer each other up, and talk on the phone during our breaks. He gets home a few hours later than I do, but he calls and we chat on his way home. We get on Messenger and video call after weve both had dinner, watch movies together or play multiplayer games. 
It's a lot of patience needed, and sometimes you'll feel emotional every once in a while (or at least I do). He visits me every weekend he can, and we try to enjoy the time we have together before he has to go back home. Communication and trust and patience are huge factors. I believe in you, fam :) y'all got this!!

It’s really rough sometimes! I’m in the same boat. But you can get through, just keep reminding yourselves how much you care about each other. 
My boyfriend and I use the site rabb.it a lot. It lets you stream things and video each other at the same time. 
It’s also good to find things you like doing together, like if it’s video games we usually download the same game and play through it while Skype is open. Or if you like reading or music, send each other thinks and talk about them later. I’ve found that it’s been really important for us to have fun together in whatever ways we can.  
Also it’s really good to write letters or send physical things so the other person has something physical to hold on to.
