Newborn sleeps on my chest?

Baby is 1 week old and Dr has us feeding every 2 hours. We've tried the bassinet, crib and pack and play and he wakes up every time... At night time I feel better just letting him sleep on my chest while I doze here and there. Its the only way either of us sleep in between those feedings. Any advice? I just want to enjoy this time snuggling but also want to be safe.

So, my babe is 10 days old and we are also working on sleeping in the bassinet. The biggest thing is our pediatrician said his days and nights were mixed up, and that is usually one of the biggest reasons babes wont sleep in the bassinet. We have been waking him and feeding him every 2.5 to 3 hours during the day and then giving longer stretches at night to reset his sleep/ wake cycle. Last night he slept in the bassinet for 4 hours! Other tips that have been really helpful are to put something in the bassinet that smells like you. Also to put babys head in the corner to help him feel more closed in and safe. I hope we all get some good sleep soon!!

I bedshared with our oldest for 5 1/2 months and will bedshare this babe until then too probably unless she asks to move to her own crib earlier. We have a cosleeper for the bed but she won’t sleep in if.. she’s a heartbeat sleep kind of baby... 
we keep everything but thin blankets off the bed. We don’t drink alcohol before bed. 
There have been studies that show moms who breastfeed sleep in a certain position that they are much less likely to roll over baby than a non breastfeeding mom.

My little man (4 weeks) sleeps in the bed with us but in this travel bassinet called Lulyboo. I love it because even if my husband or I are leaning against it, you’d have to use a lot of deliberate effort to roll over the sides and onto the baby. I love it because I can just turn over and grab him when needed, comfort him without barely moving, and even change him in it during the night just by sliding a waterproof changing mat under him!

I’m having trouble with this too, and while I feel very safe with her on me, my husband is (justifiably) very scared about bed sharing. 2 nights ago we made sure to leave her in the bassinet and it was the longest night yet (I was up ALL night comforting her), but then yesterday she slept like an angel in the bassinet and I was able to only get up when my alarm went off (I have set for 3 hours at night) and she went right back to sleep after feeding. I’d say keep trying with as regular and safe a routine as you can, because each night will be different.

My husband and I are in the same boat. When we try the basinet she is up all night fussing and we’re up all night comforting her. We had one good night. ONE. We do have a routine for the night time and it’s slowly helping.

Get a sock and fill with rice and heat it in the microwave, put it in the bassinet while you fed him and take it out when your ready to put him in there. It was the same for me with my daughter and I tried this and she sleeps so much better in there.

I put my son in a dockatot right between me and the wall in our bed. He sleeps great and I don’t have to worry about anything having him right there
