I’m 22 and I had surgery on the 20th to remove a huge ovarian cyst (size of a grapefruit, obstructed my ureter and covered my rectum). It ended up being a “chocolate cyst” or endometrioma and endometriosis, so he removed all of that. I didn’t have a bowel movement or release any gas until about 3 days after the surgery.

Beginning yesterday, I’ve been having terrible pain in my lower abdomen, sides and near my rectum when I urinate or have a bowel movement. I don’t know if this is normal or not.

My next period is expected the end of next week and I know the first few periods after lap are expected to be more painful, so maybe that’s why?

Has anyone experienced this?

Also how long is this recovery going to take? I feel like it’s going so slow and I want to get back to doing normal things and working out.
