Flying after 34 weeks?

Hi I’m a FTM and my husband and I want to take a baby moon. With the way our schedules are I’ll only be able to take it when I’m 34 weeks. Has anyone flown at around 34 to 35 weeks on a 4 hour flight? We were thinking Mexico or Miami. My doctor cleared me for Miami at 34 weeks but I left a message for him to ask about Mexico. Any advice to a new pregnant mama?

Well I'd actually check with the airline. Even if your doctor clears you to fly, the final decision is up to the airline. I've read tons of stories about women being cleared to fly, or go on a cruise by their doc, but being turned away at the gate. So I'd def check that first.
If it were me, I wouldn't travel internationally in my 3rd trimester. I get that Mexico isn't that far, and I'm sure you'd be going to a safe tourist type of spot, but I'm too paranoid and wouldn't risk anything. Be it flying for longer, typical travel/airplane germ exposure, potential food poisoning, etc. I wouldn't want to be too far away from my doctor (or at least a US medical doctor) in case anything were happen. 
It's definitely your call! But I'm the crazy lady who cried nearly every night in my 3rd trimester worried about something happening lol. 💁

Idk what county you are flying from. But I  flew at 35 weeks.  By law they cannot ask how far along you are.  And if they do you do not have to disclose it with them. On my returning trip we misuse our flight and had to go to customer service. The manager at custom service asked how far along I was because if I’m too far along she cannot book me another flight. I told her I actually wasn’t sure but I did get clearance from my doctor and I’m Not  so far along that i can’t fly.

I didn’t fly so late but what I would check is that wherever you fly to they have a hospital with a good NICU in case your baby comes earlier. 
Also, if you’re admitted at the hospital and have to be on bed rest, would you be able to do it at that location? If you’re American then I would stay in the country.
I had my babies at 34w after a zero complication pregnancy, I just went into labor and I had the babies 3 hours later. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I definitely wasn’t up for a 4 hour flight at that stage of my first pregnancy 😅 if you get the all clear from your doc that’s the main thing because everyone is different
