I’m a legal adult, yet my mom forces me to print my name to sign things. I told her it’s unprofessional, and looks ugly because I wasn’t taught cursive. I HAVE a signature I use to sign all my legal documents, she just won’t let me use it because “it’s illegal, and it’s not correct”. Even the college questioned her and they said, “this isn’t a signature. Where is she to confirm this?” Weird, it’s almost as if I NEED to sign my documents with my legal signature, or it’ll looked forged by HER. Of course she won’t listen to me.

Yes, I HAVE to have her help with fafsa. I legally need her tax papers or I can’t get money. It’s the law, and it stays in motion until I’m 25. I could have her and my dad sign a document stating I’m independent, but if my parents gave me a penny, even if it was for my birthday, fafsa can sue me for fraud. So no, I can’t fill it out on my own. I’ve heard that a million times. A broken record at this point.
