Is this ok?

Question

My 21 month old son says:
- Dad
- Mum
- Yummy
- What?
and tries to say (but can’t say properly):
- Ready
- Where’s *his name*?
- There he is!
A month ago, he could only say Dad and yummy. 
He’s booked into a speech pathologist for this Friday. 
Hearing good, and not autistic.

I’ve noticed boys don’t talk as much as girls. I used to baby sit a 22 month and 20 month old. 22-boy 20-girl. The boy said a few things as while the girl talked my ear off. That seems pretty normal

My Lo has had speech therapy for awhile.  But after she was 24 months, speech blew up...shes saying things we have never practiced. See the speech people and keep working on it

I know they usually say at that age they should be talking a lot more. But my son is almost 2 and doesn’t talk much. He can definitely say a lot of words but hell only say it so often and he babbles a lot. But Even my doctor said boys are usually a little delayed in speaking. It definitely would hurt to bring it up to your doctor though. But I’m not too concerned about it. My mom said I didn’t even start talking until I was like 3. And my bfs niece was also 3 when she started talking but you couldn’t understand her much but she’s better now and there was never anything wrong.

I think 21 months is a little early to worry. Every child is different. Our doctor says as long as he’s verbal and saying something/making noises they’re doing okay. IMO. I think my 2 year old says a lot, there’s just some things we can’t understand.

20 month old should be saying about 15 words but might just be a late talker and probably soon enough wont stop talking :)

I would say to ask your doctor! I stopped keeping tracking after like 75 words, but my daughter probably says 200(ish) words and she turns 2 in August!
