Ectopic pregnancy recovery

Carla

Hello ladies, so I wanted to tell you a little of my story with my pregnancy. I been married for almost five years. The first year I got pregnant six months after marriage. Ended up in a car accident and had a miscarriage. Second pregnancy was that same year in December. We were so happy, but at 6-7 weeks I miscarried. In March of the following month. I was pregnant again and miscarried a third time. Forward to 2019. In February we found out my husband had low sperm count and a chromosomal issue. So we were going to start trying once we had treatments, but may 1st 2019 found out I was pregnant. It was a very big surprise since we were not trying. The next day I went to my obgyn to get checked out since I have a history of high risk. They did ultrasound and they did all lab work. US showed no sac or nothing. Doctor said I was less weeks then expected. So they kept checking my hcg levels for the next couple of weeks. I was put on progesterone suppository and a whole bunch of vitamin pills. Forward to about may 17 I had to go to the ER because my doctor said I was having a ectopic pregnancy and they had to give me a shot or surgery. Well I went in and they ran out of lab work and US. When they did the ultrasound they saw a sac in my uterus putting me at less thank 5 weeks pregnant. We were so excited because for Us it was a little miracle. Now fast forward to Sunday may 26th I was feeling so good decided to get up and get ready. We went to a family friends house to visit someone, but I started feeling bad. I told my husband and we started walking to the car. I soon as I started walking I felt sharp pain in my abdomen like poop cramps. I was sweating and was almost bent over from the pain. As soon as I got to the car my husband told me to put the seat down but as soon as I did that I was gasping for air. That’s when I knew something was not right and asked to be taken to the ER. When we arrived to the ER I got out and I couldn’t sign in I had to sit down, but I had this urge to go to the bathroom and poop. I asked my husband to go with me and as soon as I sat down I felt dizzy nauseas shortness of breath and my ears felt clogged. A nurse had to come help me in a wheel chair. They took me in and I was in a tiny room. The nurse was asking me questions and I told her what was going on. They did blood work ASAP and ekg. I had to go the the bathroom again and they got me up to a wheel chair. When I sat in the toilet I fainted. When I came back I was sweating cold and all the other symptoms. They got me into bed and a ultrasound tech was waiting for me. She did the ultrasounds and told us they didn’t see anything. A few minutes later my doctor came in and said I was bleeding inside because my tube ruptured and they had to take in into surgery. Doctor left and surgen came in and said she was going to take me in in 30 min well everything happen in a sec. They took me into pre op and got me ready. Next thing you know I was under a lot of lights being sedated. I didn’t know about me until I came out of surgery. When I came out my first question was did they do the surgery and they said yes. I remember feeling thirsty and everything hurt. They gave me meds and I was ready to go up to my room. They took me to my room and in my way there I was vomiting. I got to my room saw my husband worried. He hugged me and cried that is when I realized all that happen. I had ruptured my left tube and lost 2 liters of blood. And they removed my left tube. I had laparoscopic surgery so had three incisions done. That night they made me get up to pee. It was the worst feeling ever. I felt pain in my right side in my shoulders. I couldn’t take deep breaths. It was horrible to get up. I finally got up and laid back down all with trouble and almost fainting in the bathroom. Next day was a little better I was able to get up without everything hurting. I had blood transfusion. I was in the hospital for three days. I was discharged Wednesday 29th of may. Since I have been home I have had so many ups and Downs my anxiety has been horrible. I had two days that i didn’t sleep at night because i felt like my body was shutting down. I been trying to adjust the way I sleep walk as much as possible. My legs cramp and get numb I been to the Er twice since I left because of numbing and second time because my husband said I had pus in one of my insidious but they said it was Normal. I have good and bad days today it has been a good day. Been able to be up and out to eat. It’s been a horrible roller coaster ride. I am just wanting to get better and feel like my old self again. I know it’s a process but it’s frustrating because I have had to have everything done to me and I’m not used to that, but I’m Alive I had a 15% chance to live and I am here and I am grateful for that. It’s just a working progress. Hope you guys have a great day and let me know your experience and I would love to answer questions and know of people that have been through this
