What happens after breastfeeding?

I am planning on hopefully breastfeeding for one year. 
If we are successful, what happens after that? 
Do you pump? 
Do you formula feed? 
How often do they have milk after one year? 
I have so much to learn 😅

My son will be 1 in 2 weeks, so I can share my plan. Baby can drink other milk once they are 1 year. So I’ll send my baby to daycare with whole milk, which means I’ll stop pumping at work(Whoo!!!). But I plan to keep nursing him when we’re together. The amount of milk they drink will decrease, as they’re going to be eating more solid foods at that point.

I stopped pumping at a year. My daughter is 2 and still breastfeeding. She’s slowly dropped her feeds. She breastfeeds once in the morning and once before she goes to bed. Weaning is happening slowly for us and is at her pace. I’m in no rush as I’m happy with continuing to breastfeed. She’s slowly getting more distracted and we could be done anytime now or we could go for many more months.

Formula is unnecessary after a year but you can continue to nurse or pump and offer it in a cup if you want. If you choose not to continue with breastmilk, you could offer cow’s milk or an alternative although milk is not needed if your child has a well balance diet and gets the healthy fats and nutrients they need from food. Kids are usually just picky so milk is an easy way to get those fats and nutrients.
