Anyone diagnosed with GD?

I found out today that I failed my 3hour test. My Dr is calling in the glucose monitor for me so that I can start monitoring my sugar and is referring me to a group that will reach out for diabetic education. I’m nervous, scared, mad, pretty much all the above emotions! I just don’t want anything to happen to my baby girl. Can anyone lend me some advice or guidance? I really appreciate it. ☺️

I failed my glucose test and was diagnosed with GD. Pricking finger 4 times a day every hour after you eat and watching what you eat isn’t fun , but it gets easier. It can all be fixed with a change in diet. I’ve lost 5 pounds by eating right.  My doctor told me to eat 6 times a day breakfast, lunch, and dinner with 3 snacks in between. I was angry at myself at first for not passing but 6 out of 10 women develop GD. In most cases, it goes away after delivery. My baby boy is healthy and strong. Keep your head high mama you got this!

I was so upset when diagnosed but the class on it was super helpful and made everything less scary. It’s really just about controlling your diet, eating less carbs and making sure you eat every 2 hours. Yes you have to test your blood four times a day but it’s super easy and just a tiny prick and keep in mind it’s only temporary and the best thing for your baby! First week was hard bc I lived on carbs but it’s getting easier and easier, and I still have toast for breakfast every morning or wheat English muffins! You can do this!!
