A coworker that I work with is dating her third cousin she said she knows that they are cousins but it’s way down the line she just found out she’s pregnant and she wants to keep her baby! My other coworkers have told her that they think she should abort the baby because it will come out special ed I haven’t told her anything about her pregnancy because that’s not my place but I have told her I think it’s an appropriate that she’s dating a family member third cousin or not sis that’s gross😐🤮🤢🤕

3rd cousins share 0.78% of the same DNA, meaning it’s unlikely that their baby will be affected. Telling somebody to abort their baby is disgusting and rude as fuck.
I don’t really care about their relationship if I’m honest. They’re barely related and they’re consenting adults soooo 🤷‍♀️ whatever.

What's more gross than 3rd cousins dating is your coworkers with their nasty, shit talking about an unborn baby being "special ed." And 3rd cousins don't share as much DNA as you'd think. Not my thing, many other fish in the sea other than family, but that baby doesn't have much more of a risk for any disorders than the baby of two completely unrelated people.

Like, chances are you don’t even know that person. You probably barely share similar DNA for there to be any complications in the child’s health.

I don’t care who consenting adults are romantically involved with. Whether a third cousin is considered incest or not depends a lot on culture.
People don’t seem to understand the science at all of why birth defects from incest happen. A single instance of two third cousins having a child has a very low increased risk.

I don't know who my third cousins are, not that I approve of dating family however at least they're not first cousins or brother and sister or something. And it's not like they need my approval either. Their baby doesn't have a higher risk of having any deformities than any other regular couple.
