My granddaughters are age 1 and 2. I’ve have two rotties age 8 yrs since they were pups. They’re highly socialized and graduated from Sit Means Sit.

My granddaughters were over with their mother and my son and the oldest stuck her finger up my female rottie’s butthole. She’s done it before. The dog turns around and gives her a growl and a short bark. It didn’t even faze my granddaughter; she didn’t cry or anything; she just removed her finger real quick. Anyway now her Mom says the kids can’t ever come over since we won’t put the dogs out. This was during the winter and we don’t keep the dogs out at night because the temperatures drop; it’s cold outside but we were more than willing to keep the dogs in a bedroom during their visit. Now that it’s warm, the dogs are outside more but she still won’t allow them to come over. We can’t go to their house because they haven’t told us where they live. It’s crazy she’s making this out to be about the dogs when it really seems like it’s so much more.

My son is a wimp. He just goes along with everything she wants. He himself comes over and has asked if he can stay with us if he needs to because things are so rocky in their relationship.
