Baby dropped but 50% effaced, labor soon?

Question

I read that for first time moms baby drops a 2-3weeks before delivery. At my checkup yesterday I was 1cm dilated and 50% effaced, but baby definitely dropped overnight.. could labor be sooner?
I’m 37 weeks 5 days and being induced on the 25th so really hoping she comes naturally before that 😭

It’s always different. Mine dropped at 34 Weeks and I’ve been 70% effaced since then. I’m 38 w tomorrow and not much has changed. 
Trying to get labor going, though as I’m supposed to be induced next week and would definitely love to avoid that. Lol

My daughter never dropped but I went into labor on my due date

I was 1.5 60% effaced at my 39w5d check up and has my son 40w1d, sooo possibly! Just depends if your baby is ready 💙
