TW: ER hospital experience

On Monday I was instructed by my OB to go to the ER for severe cramping and bleeding at 15 weeks pregnant. All of the nurses were horrendous which I have never experienced at this hospital before, ever.

One nurse in particular introduced herself and immediately says that I’m having a miscarriage and most “first babies die anyway.” I obviously got hysterical and she told me not to work myself up. This was before she even asked for my name, how I’m feeling, why I’m there, or before any tests began.

She did my IV wrong so I had to get poked by a separate nurse numerous times to get blood drawn. The same female nurse commented negatively on my weight while putting a heart rate monitor on my finger. The male nurse was arguing with my husband because I hadn’t eaten or drank anything in almost 6 hours and my husband wanted to get stuff from the vending machine for me.

This all happened in a one hour timespan. I was at this hospital for over 5 hours and no one other person checked on me other than the ultrasound tech. She visited me numerous times to ensure I was doing ok or if I had any questions. She was very descriptive during my ultrasound and turns out my baby is completely fine. Measuring ahead, perfect heartbeat and a wiggle worm. She could not see where the bleeding came from but mentioned it could just be old from implantation or cervix irritation (it was brown bleeding, I was sent there for the pain).

Everyone has told me my caregivers were way out of line and that it should be reported. I feel like it won’t do any good. What do you think I should do?
