He’s here! Emergency c-section was not the plan!

Rhys James was born Wednesday 6/12 at 9:22pm, right at 39 weeks but quite not how we expected!

Went into l&d after having weird lower abdominal pain, like exercise stitches that wouldn’t remit (I finally called l&d after like 90 min of pain - I had had the same pain before that lasted 10-15min and l&d hadn’t been concerned about it). Turned out to be preeclampsia and HELLP (elevated liver and low platelet, blood clotting issue) and was rushed to emergency c-section. Super scary as it could be fatal if untreated and I had no real symptoms of it. Just glad I trusted my gut that something wasn’t right and called!!

All is well now and baby is perfect and we are in love! Good luck to all you ladies who are still awaiting baby and trust your instincts!
