What do y’all think about online relationships?

So I have been talking to this amazing guy for more than a year and he asked me to be his girlfriend a couple months ago and I agreed 😅.. he seems to like me and all and I think I like him too..just wanted to know y’alls opinion about online dating and relationships 😅

Depends. Have you FaceTimed the guy to see if he’s actually who he says he is? Anyone can pretend to be anyone on the Internet. Could be a 60 year old man, a 12 year old girl, anyone. 
For me, that’s why dating purely online is a big no for me

People pretend who they are all the time, if I haven’t met someone in real life I couldn’t take it seriously at all

I’ve been in a LDR relationship for 3 years with someone I met online playing Xbox. We hop planes and do visits when we can and we are currently in the process of making plans to close the distance for good. I think they can work if you meet someone who has the same views and end goals for the relationship and someone who actually is willing to put in the work to make it work.

Been in one a long time. You have to be super careful (always Skype and ask for photos and anything with money is a red flag), but if you can’t be with someone otherwise it’s good.

Do you plan on meeting up anytime soon or will this be a long distance relationship? LDRs are a hard pass for me but I did meet my fiancé online & it worked for us but we were in the same city, met up quickly & hung out consistently as well. I think if it’s going to be a LDR you should at least video chat him before making that choice & following that you should be sure that overtime he’s being consistent & doing right by you.

It depends on your circumstances but I met a guy online, talked for about 8 months and then met. 
Next month is our 8th anniversary and I'm pregnant with our second baby.  
If you see a red flag or something doesnt sit right in the back of your mind.... DONT IGNORE IT.

I don't support online dating because the other person turns out to be completely different than he/she really is. Also, I don't think one can develop same attachment as offline relationship. When offline relationships tend to break easily, online ones are very hard to maintain. Being faithful is difficult. It can be successful however if both persons are introvert and shy.

I went on OkCupid and dated this guy. For a few months. I found out that he cheated on me and he was still on the site well we were dating. Plus he sent a tex message to me but it was for another girl but he said it was a cousin. Plus this guy was cheap we went out for dinner he ordered a lot of things and I ordered a few things as well. Then at the end of the date I thought he would pay for it but he said let’s split the bill. I was so stunned. He eat so much of the food I didn’t even get that much after he was done eating everything. And he was the one who asked me out for dinner. I thought well he would pay for dinner and I would pay for the movie like a trade off. But I was so up set about the dinner I didn’t want to go out to the movie so I ask if he could take me home. And that ended the relationship right then and there. 
There this other dating site I also went on. It was bad too. K was talking with this one guy for a few months. We decided to go for a bubble tea. We meet up and the pics he has on line he didn’t even look like the pics he has on line. So I ended it there.
