Men can be jerks (sometimes)
I just recently moved into a high rise apartment. My apartment is basically the second last unit at the very end of the hall so I do have a bit of a jaunt to get to my place (I like it that way because sometimes being close to the elevator is noisy at all hours with people coming and going)
Anyways. I was taking out some recycling (you know, to the door beside the elevator) and there was this really friendly guy who just struck up a conversation with me. The whole I haven't seen you here before, when did you move in, my name is, etc.
Since then we have been talking every single day. A couple days after we met, he knocked on my door with a welcome to the neighborhood basket with chocolate, bath stuff, wine, and a gift card to target. I tried to give it back, insisting that he didn't have to do that! But he refused and insisted that I take it and enjoy it.
A week later we went out for coffee. Another week later he came over to my place to watch baseball and ordered in food for us. Basically for the past month, he has been so friendly, flirty, and in all honesty I was starting to like him and even thought about what it would be like to sleep with him.
I'm parking my car in the underground parking garage and I'm headed to the elevator. I select my floor, the doors start to close and then I hear someone say "could you hold the door!?" And so i did immediately. A second later I'm face to face with HIM. I smile and he looks away like he was embarrassed to see me. A moment later, a hugely pregnant mama to be waddles in behind him, grabs his arm and says "geez baby I can't wait until he's out".
I'm shocked that my jaw didn't hit the floor right then and there. The woman says a polite hello (you know how elevator talk goes) and then stands back, not pressing any buttons because we're all going to the same damn floor now.
I felt a little humiliated for flirting with a pregnant womans man for a month straight. Heck he was in my house! I'm thinking does she even know? Because no we didn't sleep together but as a female I would be pissed if my man brought a girl chocolate and wine (unless it was from the two of us)
