So they say a mother’s instinct is Always

right well 28th May it was! 39+5 days I Woke up normally but contracting on and off for days as I’d had 3 sweeps so was told it was normal as the morning progresses I sit and think whys she not moving I tried eating cold things hot things lying on my side till I thought enough is enough I’m going to ring i rang and got told to go straight in was monitored for 2 hours my little girls heart was up and down midwife sees I’m contracting on the monitor so sends me for a walk, I was 3cm on my walk the pains were every 2 minutes I had to keep stopping so I went back to the room yet I was still only 3cm 4 hours passed with me contracting every 2mins they decided to put me on fluids and antibiotics as my heart was also racing and I had a temperature midwifes says “ doctor said you’ve got to stay in your not going home without a baby” by 9pm another 3 hours had passed I was still only 3cm I was getting frustrated as I could see my daughters heart on the monitor beating 198bpm and higher at times doctor comes in takes one look at the monitor and says take her upstairs break her waters so we head upstairs get told to put all our baby’s stuff on the examination mat and she will break the sac as she was about to break it she checked I was still 3cm pop she broke my waters and amazingly I went to 6cm within seconds the pain got horrendous and I asked for gas and air 2 hours later I needed to push so I started to by then I was quite out of it I remember them pulling me shouting turn on your side my baby’s heart had dropped to 61bpm then I hear her say she’s 7cm i was thinking that’s it there taking me for a c-section i was gripping my husbands hand I was scared what was happening but I was still out of it thinking how I NEED TO PUSH!! she said go for it so I did within a minute her head was out followed by her body YES IT WAS ALL OVER!! but then they delivered my placenta I overheard the midwife say you’re very lucky My husband says why she calls him over and he says oh my god she then showed me my baby’s cord she had swam around when smaller and put a knot in her cord but over the past days it had got very tight as my baby ran out of room cutting food oxygen and blood supplies I’m so glad and also very lucky I reacted when I did with her not moving and trusting my mothers instincts because if I didn’t I wouldn’t have this beautiful little girl I have today they told me she wouldn’t have lasted another night with such a tight knot in her cord.
