Huge difference in maturity. I cant see a normal, mature 20 yo wanting to be w a high schooler teen. At all.

I dated a 20 year old when I was 17, and he was taking advantage and just wanted to be with a high school girl bc “that’s hot”. I wanted sex so I didn’t care. Was it appropriate and should my family allow it? No.

Maturity and life experience are not dependent on age. There are some 17 year olds that have lived more than some 40 year olds. Some 17 year olds have experienced the loss of loved ones, being homeless, abuse or other traumas. Some work to support their families. Some are carers for parents of siblings with disabilities.
So it would really depend on these particular individuals. Is their life perspective compatible? Are they mature enough to be in a relationship? 
Will they be able to work through the differences in life stages they are both at? Only time and circumstances will tell.
I should add that the legality of the sexual nature of the relationship between these two individuals will vary depending on country.

I was 16 and my boyfriend was 21. We are now almost 8 years together, 5 years living together and trying for baby number one 🤷🏼‍♀️. It all depends on the situation I guess ☺️

It squicks me out if the 20 yr old won't wait until the 17 year old is 18 but if it was my kid, I'd give my blessing if they had graduated already (I graduated at 17) and were in or starting college or were turning 18 soon.

It sounds so awful but I got with my husband when i was 15 and he was 20. We didn’t have sex until marriage but weve been together 10 years this year. Lol. I do not think my situation is common though. Don’t follow my example lol
