Pack nursing pads in hospital bag?

Do you really need to pack nursing pads in your hospital bag? I thought your milk didn’t come in until day 3-5, and wouldn’t the hospital have these if you needed them? Thanks!

I’ve already started leaking and I’m only 31 weeks.. granted it’s only colostrum but better to be prepared I think

I'm bringing some in mine just in case, but I don't think I used them with my first. I'm a just in case kinda person though. The hospital will probably have some in a pinch though. My milk came in right away, but I wasn't leaking for a week or so.

With my first I brought a couple. SO happy I did, one of my nipples started bleeding from trying to breast feed and I used lanolin and before using the breast pad my nipples were like sticking to my bra.

I’ve packed some just in case as I know that the supplies the hospital gives are limited and I rather be over prepared.

I was told my hospital has them and I haven’t had any leaking issues. Also you won’t get your full on milk for a couple of days. I’m not packing anything the hospital provides bc I’ve been told they give you lots and send you home with them too!

I gave birth at 5 a.m and by 11 p.m my milk came in and I was dripping EVERYWHERE. The hospital did not have an extra pump, nipple pads or pillows to help me be comfy but I could've just delivered at a shitty hospital. I wasted so much milk 😭

My milk didn’t come in strong until after we had left the hospital last time around. Maybe pack a few, but I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

I didn’t bring them with my first and I didn’t need them. You won’t know if you’re a leaker until you try lol! Toss a couple in the bag if you want but you can probably live without. I will be bringing my haaka pump and the only time I really leaked was from the boob the baby wasn’t on until my supply came in, then I needed pads all the time 🤣

I'm sure the hospital can provide them, but I birthed at home with my first. Personally, I prefer the cloth reusable breast pads to disposables, so I would bring my own to the hospital. Side note, it's common for milk not to come in for a couple days, but mine was in less than 24 hours later and I was leaking all over the place. Of course, my son was pretty much attached to my boobs that entire 24 hours, so I blame that. 🤷
