Getting married to the LOML

so I’m planning my wedding with no planning help from anyone ( February 1st 2020) and a friend of mine just asked when we planned to get engagement photos done. I honest to goodness forgot all about them so my question is are they important? Are they a necessary to get done? Or would I be fine without them?
