Please comment your understanding and reasons. Also it may sound dumb but let me know if there is any way to have a light eyed baby.

Both my parents have coffee brown eyes. I have light blue eyes, my sister has light green eyes, and my youngest sister has golden brown eyes. If both parents carry the light eyes gene it is possible.

You could both have recessive light - brown is a dominant trait, so it shows over light eyes, but if you both have recessive light/blue you could have a blue eyed baby

It depends on whether you carry the recessive trait for blue eyes or not (is that what you mean by light?) If everyone in your family is Hispanic, Asian, African, or some nationality where eyes are always brown then you'll almost definitely have a brown eyed. There had to be blue eyes somewhere in your lineage in order for your baby to have blue eyes.

I said no because it’s very, very unlikely, but it is possible.  If you’re white, your baby will probably be born with blue eyes that darken over time.
My friend has a blue eyed 1 year old, she and her boyfriend both have brown eyes.  However they do have some family members with blue eyes.

It’s not all about dominant genes, recessive genes have a lot to do with genetics as well. You should do some research about that, it’s pretty interesting.
