Trigger Warning: Reporting Sexual Assault + Getting a job

Normally, I would not posted about this subject because I hate to trigger anyone, but this is something that has been on my mind for a while. I have never been sexually assaulted, but I have a friend who has, and she has told me that reporting sexual assault can affect a woman's chances of getting a job. She says that after her friend sued her former boss for sexual assault, it went on her public record, and she has been living on unemployment ever since. I have done my research on this topic, and I asked my friend how they came to that conclusion, because I was in such disbelief. According to my research, sometimes when sexual assault is reported, the court hides the name of the accuser for safety reasons, but sometimes no. Sometimes the accuser can petition the court to keep details of the case private, but sometimes it still goes public. As a woman, I am terrified to hear this, but I wanted other people to be aware of this, and if anyone knows how to take someone to court for sexual assault w/o it going on your public record, PLEASE comment down below. The privacy of sexual assault survivors needs to be protected. Potentional employers do not need to know such personal information. As for survivors of sexual assault, you all are very brave, and I wish you all the best
