Nurse one side or both?

Hi ladies! Do you normally nurse from both sides in a session or just one and alternate at the next session? My LO is almost 3 weeks and I’ve done it both ways and have had some women tell me they did one side per session and others tell me they did both. Just curious what others do and which one is best!

One side. Means they get a larger amount of hind milk which is more fatty and keeps them fuller for longer.
I also pumped the side that they weren’t feeding on so I could build my freezer supply 😊

I only do one side as well so baby gets both foremilk and hindmilk. My lactation consultant told me to let him nurse on one side until he comes off and then I can offer him the other side to see if he is still hungry. I have an oversupply though, so usually one side is plenty for him!

I’ve only ever nursed on one side each feed. I used to pump on the other in the early days till my supply regulated at 7wks. It’s only now I’m 7months into breastfeeding that my little girl wants to feed off both boobs, mainly at night time tho before she goes to sleep. 😊

Almost always both. Early on I would do both and then the first side again. But everyone is different. My baby wanted to eat every 90 minutes for months at a time...one side was not suffix.

My 2 week old TYPICALLY only eats on one side but I offer both

Hello. My hospital told me always offer both but as they get bigger they may not want a second breast so you may end up feeding from just one both allow them access to both :) x

I remember doing both at the beginning. Then after my supply came in and really got established I switched to one boob a session
