Could he be taking his time?

I went out with friends and a coworker a few weeks ago. The coworker and I hooked up. The following week he asked me out for food and drinks and we hooked up again. A few days after that we went out for drinks again, got drunk, and slept over at my house and hooked up again. We talked at work the other day and I low key mentioned “what are we” but I was sorta joking through it and idk if he caught on but he kinda just laughed it off. And then after he mentioned how he wanted to take me somewhere later this week and maybe sleep over later. Could he just be taking his time dating? I’m not too familiar with dating bc I just got out of a long relationship. Do people date like this???
