I am looking to getting a mix of these two tattoos on my hip in a few months and I am wondering what kind of tattoo it is. I know some tattoo artists special in different things. I already have one tattoo and I love it, but I am moving and the artist is 10 hours away now:(

Those are both considered illustrative realism. The artist drew it up and used techniques to make it look realistic but took liberties/added linework where there wouldn’t be lines in real life. That’s the illustrative part. Often those bits help the design’s readability as a tattoo.
