Vacation

This has been one hell of a year for me and I would like to vacation somewhere while my bf has the time off. His sister invited me to NO for the Essence festival. I would really love to go but I am strapped for cash and this really is last minute planning for me. I.am currently unemployed and yes I need a vacation. So I suggested a visit to my home state KY. This would be a quicker trip and less money. This is also more affordable for me. I havent seen my family in years. But my bf kind of just want to have a staycation and us spend some time together locally. Would I be wrong if I took a vacation anywhere without him? I really want to take him to KY. I will be working soon and I wont have the time to take. Any advice?
