Can I catch hand foot and mouth disease off my little niece?

I’ve not been around her today but my husband used our car to take them doctors, am I still able to get in the car even though she’s touched everything?

You technically can, but my kids have had it a handful of times over the years and I never have.  It’s pretty uncommon for an adult to catch it full bore.

You could but it isn’t that serious. It’s a virus. You’ll catch it and be uncomfortable for a few days and then you will feel better. It won’t harm your baby or anything.

My daughter had it earlier this spring and our pediatrician told us it’s easy for parents of infected children to catch it. However I don’t think just from your car you’re likely to catch it. A spread via mucus or saliva, so you’d have to share food or something like that with her in order to catch it. Or touch something she touched with slobbery hands while it’s still wet and then put your hand in your mouth... something like that.

Give it a quick wipe down. It’s a virus and spreads easily. That said it doesn’t last too long if you do get it.
