When will you tell your family and close friends?

We’re trying to decide when is right to tell our families that we’re expecting. Would love to hear when you have historically told your family or when you plan to this time around!

We waited until after our first ultrasound at 7 weeks to tell our family the first time and 8 weeks to publicly announce. This time we’re telling our parents and immediate family next week at 5 weeks. I think the main reason people wait is to make sure the pregnancy is viable, but if you’re like me, I’d be open about a miscarriage and not hide it anyway (which I have done) so it really doesn’t matter when to announce in my book🤷🏼‍♀️

The only reason I’m waiting till after 
My first ultrasound is because I have a little boy. 
He’s been desperate for a little brother or sister for so long so I want to make sure everything is perfect with my little bean before I tell him.
If anything where to happen I would have to tell him and he’d be devastated he’s 8 so would understand. He’d also be petrified if I got pregnant again incase it happened again. 
So just do what feel right right for you. I don’t think there’s a right or wrong time to tell anyone just depends on your personal circumstances. 🥰🥰

For my previous pregnancy that ended in miscarriage I was really glad my family, close friends, and some close church friends all knew I was pregnant. I told my best friend immediately and then waited to tell family only until we could all get together (6 weeks). When I miscarried at 9 weeks I had so much support and it just felt right to celebrate new life while it lasted, not hide it. Now granted it was painful and awkward when someone who knew I was pregnant but hadn’t heard about the miscarriage asked how the pregnancy was going... but for me it was worth it despite that. 
This new pregnancy we’ll be doing the same thing. Fingers crossed baby sticks 🤞🏽

Last time I told my family right away at like 6 weeks. Ended up having a miscarriage at 9 weeks. So this time gonna tell family at 13 to 14 weeks.

Family we told right away because if something happens we would tell them too. Fb, work friends, etc. We are holding off until after the 1st trimester

We waited until 8 weeks, once we had our Ultrasound, to tell our parents. This time, we told them right away and are welcoming the support. I was sosososo worried with my first, that I could have used the support! It is what you're comfortable with!

We always wait to tell everyone until after 12 weeks. (I've told a couple of close friend each pregnancy in case something happened.) Once you tell people they will start getting impatient and you will get irritated with all the questions! Haha or at least I did.

I just like to wait until I have an ultrasound to make it real. So whenever that is and I dont even know what dr I'm going to be seeing this time so it may be a while...

I put 8-9 weeks because my moms birthday and my father in laws birthday are both in that time frame. But I really want to hold out to 12 when my parents and my husbands will be all together at the cottage. 😬
