When to send babies to Daycare?

How old was your baby when you went back to work and send them to daycare?

Mine started daycare at 12 weeks. I cried a lot more than he did lol. He’s 2.5yo now and loves daycare. He comes home with art projects to put on the fridge and he talks about his friends. He goes to a licensed in-home daycare and I loooove that he spends the day with kids of all ages, he was familiar with babies when his little brother was born and he’s always learning new things from the older kids.

3 months. It was harder on me than it was on her. She’s 2.5 now and loves seeing all of her friends!

I took two weeks off for maternity leave and worked from home until my daughter was about 8 weeks. That’s when I was able to start daycare and she’s been going ever since. She’s almost two now and LOVES it! She has so many little friends and learns so much. I’m due with number two any day now and we have the same arrangement 💕

Hunny and I alternated parental leave, so my daughter didn't start daycare until she was 4 months old. She loves it and they love her. She only goes three days a week

I went back to work when my daughter was 10 weeks. She goes to a licensed in-home daycare and I really love that for her. Her babysitter is very experienced, provides lots of fun indoor and outdoor activities for the kids, and it’s a small group, only 5 kids. I love that my daughter is getting social interaction with other kids her age. Plus there was the added benefit that her babysitter taught her how to nap.

We started our daughter at 10 months and she loved it (we had a nanny before that)! Unfortunately we had to pull her out at 14 months because she got a severe case of RSV there (it was really bad last season) and had to be hospitalized for a week. We ended up pulling her out of daycare to let her lungs fully heal for 6 months (several different pediatrician’s recommendations). She just started a MDO program 3 weeks ago again, now that they’re fully healed, and she seems to love that too. While it’s hard on parents to leave their babies all day, usually the babies themselves adjust really well.
