SPD vs “normal” pain?

Jess • dog and baby human mom. Just doing my best.

Has anybody been diagnosed with SPD and gotten any treatment that helped with it? I’m almost 30 weeks and I’m 90% sure that’s what’s been going on with me for a couple weeks now - it hurts me so bad to walk I’m working from home 2-3 days a week now, and it hurts so bad just getting up at night to pee that I nearly cry. My inner upper thighs feel like they are on fire inside, my hips pop when I roll over in bed, and I physically can’t lift one foot more than about ten inches higher than the other. Yesterday I had to carry some heavy stuff from the car to the garbage 50 feet away and today I feel like my body is ripping in half at the pelvis. I am generally not a wimp when it comes to pain (I lived with gallstones/gallbladder attacks for two years and that left me with a pretty high pain tolerance) but this is getting bad enough that it’s hard for me to commute, and I wasn’t planning to start working from home full time until at least 36 weeks if I could help it.

My doctor just said this happens sometimes during pregnancy, and has not actually mentioned SPD, she just recommended that I try wearing a belly band (which has not helped). What I’m wondering is whether there’s really any reason to press her for a specific diagnosis or should I just tough it out? is there any kind of treatment anybody has gotten for this that really helped you that you wouldn’t have gotten without a diagnosis?
