Grandparent jealousy

My husband and I just took our 3 month old to visit his step mom and sisters (who are 9) for a few days.

Little back story.... my husbands parents had him young (both of them were around 20) and have both since remarried. My husband hasn't spoken to his dad in years (long story) but has reconnected with his step mom and sisters recently (dad left his step mom as well). They visited us last summer when I announced my pregnancy and came to visit once my daughter was born.

My husband was told to take time off since his hours wont roll over and the cut off is soon. He was told on Tuesday and we planned our trip (from va to nj) within the next day.

While on the trip I sent a picture of me and my daughter to mine and his mother. She asked where we were and when i explained she said "oh i wish you had told me he had time off I would have gotten you tickets" (mom lives in florida) I said it was very last minute but she never replied back.

I got the impression that she was upset... jealous... butt hurt. Keep in mind she had come up 2 weeks ago for the weekend. I know we dont have to get permission to see who we want but it just feels sticky...

Anyone else have to deal with a similar situation
