Third ultrasound?

Does anyone know if there’s typically a third ultrasound when you’re in the third trimester? I had one when I found out I was pregnant, and one anatomy scan. The dr’s haven’t mentioned it but some people I know get one! Currently almost 31 weeks.

I think it depends. Some do a growth scan to measure the baby to get a weight. However they may only do this if they suspect the baby is big or small.

I think it depends on doctors but where I live (NS Canada) generally you only have a third ultrasound if there is a concern. I may get a growth one since my last son had shoulder dystocia but he hasn’t told me yet. I’m 30 weeks

I’m getting one again at 33 weeks but it’s because they think my baby is on the smaller side. Nothing abnormal but they just want to check her growth. So yeah typically they won’t unless they feel like they should check growth or something

I only got 2. One when I was 12 weeks and the other when I was 22 weeks and I'm 35 weeks now. my doctor said typically they dont give more than 2 unless the baby was growing too small or too big but everyone's doctor could be different!

Totally depends! My OB said she likes to do one more at 36 weeks. I'm just so excited to get to see baby one more time before delivery!!

I’m scheduled for another measurement scan at my next visit (34 weeks). My
Last appointment my doctor thought I might be further along, so she wanted to check.

After my 20 week scan I was told there would unlikely be another one, but at 36 weeks they wanted to confirm the position of baby, while there they thought they saw a bit of an arrhythmia so sent me to a fetal specialist to get ANOTHER (everything was all good in the end) I was actually so happy to see her because she has grown so much!

I think it depends on your history and your insurance. I have had 5 so far but I had a 2nd trimester loss so they watch me more closely
