I'm not sure this is debatable but I'm curious. So Idk what I really define my spirituality as but I've always felt drawn to the Earth, nature, animals, plants, and other humans like we all share a universal life energy.

But I find myself using God all the time. For example;

"Thank God the gate was shut!"

"God forbid you dont look at your phone for 2 seconds,"

"What in God's name are doing?!"

What the fuck is that? I'm not literally thanking God so why do we (I) say this? What do you all say instead?
