How do you know if your baby is spoiled?

She’ll be one month in a few days.  Everything used to be okay but last week she’s started crying so much. I’m overwhelmed. I’ll make sure she’s dry and full and yet she still cries. Idk If it’s normal or what but I just feel like I’m missing something. I can’t lay her down or place her on her boppy pillow cause within 2 minutes she’s crying. Once I pick her up she’s fine, she looks around the room or she falls asleep. Please give me some advice.

Agree with the others. Especially at 1 month old it’s not spoiling them it’s caring and comforting her. Think about the drastic change that has occurred for her, she went from being all nestled up in a safe secure reliable place and then all at once brought into an entirely new realm. Stay calm. Comfort your baby if she needs it. If she’s crying there’s a reason, that’s what u are there for.

A baby cannot manipulate you. It is impossible to spoil a baby. It sounds like you might have some PPMD. please seek out some help from a family doctor or your birth practitioner at a follow up visit. It is real. You are not bad. You are loved. It is ok to be overwhelmed but your baby needs you and you need to be there for your baby. I had post partum rage. It sucks. It’s scary. It’s full of shame and guilt and loneliness. Reach out. My baby is 11 months and chicken spend up to an hour either in her baby jail lol that's what we call her play space or her Walker or her bouncer or crawling around the floor. When she's tired she wants held. If there is no physical reason for her to cry such as hunger pain from what she's eating such as digestive pain then she is spoiled and just once held and you need to let her learn to create out. My daughter was sick a few weeks ago and she got very used to being held so when I would set her down she would cry for a while so we got used to again setting her down and playing with her until she got comfortable not needing us again. All the people who say you can't spoil a baby evidently are people who have all the time in the world and not need to do anything besides hold a child. That's not realistic for sanity.

I don’t think babies tend to be spoilt. I think the problem is often the opposite. Crying a lot could just be developmental or it could be because they are feeling a little insecure. Babies need more than just feeding and changing as I’m sure you know. Perhaps she needs a little more physical contact and positive encouragement to help her with her confidence :) x
