Not how I thought it would go
I kind of just need to get my story out of my brain. No one wants to hear my story because it isn't beautiful, inspiring and it's a bit scary. People change the subject when I try to talk about it. Here it goes.
I wanted a natural birth, free of medication and interventions. Instead I had to be induced. I went in Tuesday for some Cytotek but my contractions were to close so the stopped that. Wednesday I started Pitocin and was on that for two days. I was pretty much tied to the bed with all the monitors. Thursday they broke my water because I wasn't progressing. After that my contractions went from nothing to full blown right away lasting a minute each two minutes apart. I had to get an epidural. After a few hours my baby's heart rate jumped and they needed to do an emergency c section. During the surgery I lost too much blood and if it wasn't for the doctor slapping my cheek and making me talk I would have passed out. I had to have a blood transfusion, two units. When I was in surgery they had to give my baby formula, I didn't get to meet him until I was in recovery. I still don't feel much of a bond with him. I was very close to having a hysterectomy. The doctor said this will most likely happen with my next pregnancy. I still have pain in my abdomen weeks later and I feel like I'll never go back to normal.
