Any deployment advice??

My husband will be deploying for a year in 6 days and my anxiety level is starting to increase greatly. We have a 2.5 year old that is completely a daddy’s girl, and a 4 month old. My husband joined when our oldest was 8 months old, so he left for basic and AIT before she was 1. He missed her first birthday and her first steps. Now he’ll be missing all of our son’s firsts. I’m heartbroken and scared. He does so much for us that I can’t imagine doing it all on my own. Does anyone have any advice on how to make this next year easier?

My so is currently deployed and we have 5 months to go. Seeing him off at the airport broke my heart and trust me the first few days are the worst but then you realize that it’s not permanent. It is very hard I know and my heart goes out to every military/couple that has gone through this. Please keep busy with your daughter and know that even though technology has evolved that he won’t be able to call or video chat everyday. It will take him a while to adjust to time difference and eventually you guys will find a balance. Care packages with pictures and even letters will be the highlight of his day when you send it to him. It may get lonely at times but you will get through it❤️ Also it’s okay to have days to yourself to just cry and eat a tub of ice cream but the next day you have to get up, wipe those tears, and be strong. Just pray and communicate as much as you can. It will be hard for him as well not just you. The three key things I’ve learned to keep my relationship strong right now is Trust, Communication, and Patience. You got this! And if you ever need someone to talk to you can always message me.

My fiancé hasnt been deployed so I haven’t had to deal with it nor do I have kids. We do however currently live in different states. (Move together after we’re married in September) anyways. I keep my mind off of it by keeping busy! Crafts (for the wedding mainly, shopping, hanging with friends and family. For you, you have kids which I’m sure they help keep you busy too. I don’t have much other adobe reader but I wish you the best of luck! ♥️💕

Being a military family is hard. Our oldest was 15months and our youngest was 6 weeks when My husband left for his deployment. 
Because of Military schedules. We’ve missed a lot. We’ve been married 7 years and only been together for our anniversary for 1 of those years. Can’t even count the birthdays. 
We have gotten lucky and we’re able to skype our third baby.
Unfortunately missing life events, holidays, anniversaries is just part of the deal.
I find making an effort to send lots of pictures and writing snail mail is a good way to stay connected even when there is such a long separation. The great thing about snail mail is that the soldier can reread the letters when they are unable to get phone or internet access. And vice versa. I know there have been a lot of times I have read my husbands letters when he’s been gone and I was feeling lonely or worried. 
It’s not perfect but it helps.
There will be hard long days, but you’ve got this! 
Ps. Get involved with your units family readiness group. They have lots of programs and support for families with soldiers who are getting/are deployed.

Mine fiancé is going to deploy and might not be able to be present when his baby is born or when he’s a new born.....
