Survived my first night back at work

Linda

But my poor baby almost didn't.

Over the course of mat leave I'd ask my husband to log how much he was taking at the bottle. No matter if it were just 1/2 oz because I need to know how much to pump.

Needless to say my son went through half of the pumped milk within 2-3 hours and my husband panicked because he thought he was going to run out of milk.

When he got to the last ounce he was praying and sweating until I got off. I didn't get home til 30 minutes after I was supposed to and when I walked through the door my husband basically threw himself at my feet, said thank God I was home because he ran out of milk and didn't know what to do.

(I have a freezer stash btw but he didn't know, so he claims, I'll chalk it up to his 3am brain)

Needless to say I pumped extra last night, about 1.5 oz for every hour I'm away vs the 1 oz per every hour like my husband swore my son only ate.

And when my son sensed I was home, he was smothering me. Cluster fed for a few hours and then went back to sleep as normal.

Back to round two soon! It wasn't so bad because I worked during my son's normal sleeping time so I didn't really feel like I missed out on much.

One of the things that probably helped that is that when I was on mat leave I practiced leaving the house without the baby. Graduated from 1 hour to about 6 hours.
