So I was listening to NPR this morning and they brought up the topic of the fact that there are disparities among black students who are labeled as gifted or talented and their white peers. According to research whites are twice as likely to be labeled gifted and talented than black or Hispanic students.

They said they would begin talking about it but I couldn't continue listening because I had to run some errands.

Anyways why do you think there is a difference? What do you think the source of the problem might be?
