Flu shot?

My doctor said I should get the flu shot since flu season is coming, but I have never had a flu shot before and always kind of never wanted it. I'd really like to know others experience with this issue and what everyone thinks is best get the flu shot for first time while I'm pregnant or skip it all together? Thanks

My doctor literally said if you get the flu when pregnant, you can die or miscarry because it'll hit you so much harder than a non pregnant person. So yeah that settled any question of whether I got one lol. I had it yesterday and I am completely fine so far, not even any soreness in my arm!

Your immune system is suppressed when you're pregnant and is much weaker. You should really consider getting it. If you do end up getting the flu it could be dangerous for you and your baby. Hope this helps!

I got it the day after I found out I was pregnant. :) No side effects at all.

Btw, they don't give live vaccines to pregnant women, so you can't get the flu from the flu shot. If people got sick afterwards, it was likely unrelated to the vaccine.

Get it. The flu is very dangerous for pregnant women. It can cause serious things like preterm labor. Research it at cdc.gov if you are concerned. The vaccine can not cause the flu.

Get it. Trust your doctor. You certainly don't want the flu while pregnant. If you've never had the shot before, take a Tylenol or two before hand.

Get it! Trust your doctor! I didn't my first pregnancy and got the flu and it was soooooo bad I've had it my last two babies and haven't been sick!!!

I got it only because I have a small son would brings sickness home with him from school and I'm a school teacher myself.  Our immune systems are down while we are pregnant.  Doctors say it's best, but the next day I was so soar from the shot!
